On the 8th of February, I was working and on my break I decided to rummage through the damaged discounts that we have in the men's section. Since I am a thrower in track and I lift, my shoulders are broader than most girls, meaning that women's button up shirts are too tight on me. Also, my dad was complaining that I was using his rewards on myself, which I was, so I decided to buy some shirts for him and some shirts for me.
So let's get one thing straight right away. Old Navy and Old Navy Online are two different stores. They have different prices, different promotions, and everything else. It is the most frustrating thing to try and explain to the customer. So when someone returns something from online and it is a style or size that we don't carry in store, such as tall or petite, it gets a damage tag and is automatically 50% off. Also, if the item is on sale or on clearance, it is 50% off of that price. Also, when these items don't sell, they can even go to 75% or even 90% off. So here are the things I picked up.
This shirt is for my dad, but even though it was a damage discount, it was on clearance for $5.47. This long sleeve is an XXL, and has an original price of $29.94. Also since this was not a damage discount I can use my employee discount and get 10% off the clearance tag. I managed to pick this up for $4.92. That's a 83.57 % savings.
I picked up this shirt for myself and it was a damage discount because the style was not in store. It came into the store on 11/14 and was originally $26.94. Since the shirt had been there for a while, it was not 75% off and it was ticketed for $8.99. When I got up to the register it actually rang up $5.47, and 75% off of that is $1.37. This is a 94.9% savings.
I also purchased this shirt for myself. It had a damage discount tag on it for 75% off. I'm not sure of the original price, but it was probably somewhere from $24.94-$29.94. It was ticketed on clearance for $13.99, but actually rang up $0.97. Even the 97 cents would have been a steal, but it also had the 75% off added onto that. So I got the shirt for $0.24. This is a 99.03% savings with the $24.94 and a 99.20% savings if it was originally $29.94.
This shirt is for my dad and it is a XXL TALL, so it was a damage discount (for 75% off too!). Also for this one I'm not sure what the original price was, but the clearance price was $17.99. I wasn't too sure about this one, but I went with it anyway and it paid off. The shirt actually rang up $0.97, and with the 75% off I purchased it for $0.24. Therefore, the savings for this shirt are the same as the one above, 99.03% (for $24.94) and 99.20% (for $29.94).
This shirt is also for my dad, it's an XXL TALL, and is a 75% damage discount. Originally this shirt is $14.94, but it was on a promotion in the store and some of the graphic tees were 30% off, as this one was. So 30% off of $14.49 is $10.01 but then the 75% on top of that made the shirt $2.61. This makes the savings 81.99%.
This shirt is also an XXL TALL and is also for my dad. The original price of this item was $19.94. It was ticketed at 6.49, but was 50% off due to the size. It ended up costing $3.24. This means that it was a 83.75% savings.
This was my last purchase. It's a flannel, which automatically made it mor expensive eo I was ecstatic to take it from the store and only paying $4.50. It was ticketed originally at $34.94, but was on clearance for $15.99. Also, since it was an XXL TALL, it was damaged at 75% off. This is a 87.12% savings.
This is all of the damage I did. I came out with about $176.58 to $186.58, depending on the original prices of the two shirts, but only paid $17.12, this means I saved 90.03% to 90.82%. Not a bad shipping trip for only looking on a fifteen minute break!
