Outlets

Today was Senior Skip Day, so me, my three friends and one of their mothers went to the Grove City Outlets. Now, the last time I went here I spent a LOT of money, but today there were just so many deals that it was impossible to spend as much as I did last time.

After arriving at the outlets, we went to the information desk, and because my mom is a AAA member you get a coupon booklet for free. (Otherwise they are $5).

Here is a spreadsheet of what I bought and pictures will be below, sorted by store.

Using Coupons on Groceries (Beginers)

Being a 17 year old girl, I am not a seasoned Couponer. I have recently started couponing for my family, which consists of my mom, dad, and me living at home and my brother living at college. I am going to take you through some of the things that I did doing my first small coupon experience.

Today I used a total of 10 coupons. I know that it doesn't sound like a lot and that the people on Extreme Couponers have 100's in one store, but I'm a newbie so be nice.

I sat on my couch this morning and cut out the coupons of the items that I knew that my family uses or would use. I think that that is one key thing to do. A coupon may save you money, but is your family going to actually use the item that the coupon is for. My mother and I have cut so many coupons for things that we don't use or we have let them expire. Such a waste of time and engery.

The coupons were all sorted out by the day that they were going to expire. So, I took the ones that were going to expire for this week (4-19-15 - 4-25-15) and sat down with the ads and tried to pair the coupons with the sales. Most Couponers know that the most of the savings come from the sale and not actually come from the coupon, the coupon just makes the deal that much better.

The three papers that I found the most machups in were Kmart, Rite Aid and CVS. So I went and showered and headed out with an envelope of coupons, my moms credit card and my list.

First I headed to Kmart because, lets be honest, I got a little lost and it was the first store I found. I am heading off to college in the fall, so I thought it may be a good time to start stalking up on Tide Pods.

Kmart has 16 ct. Tide Pods on sale for 2/$10. I also had a coupon for $3.00 off of 2.

I headed up to the register with my two packages of Tide Pods and leave the store spending a total of $7.60.

Next I headed to Rite Aid. They had so many great sales and I had a lot of coupons to go with them.

Here I purchased the Diet Coke, the other package of Tide Pods, TRESemme Shampoo and Heat Spray, Aqua Net, and Dial Body Wash.

My mom's membership card saved me $15.16

I left with a total of $26.45.

My last stop of the day was at CVS. This is where I purchased the V05 Shampoo, Mountain Dew, Sunkist, Tampons, Lucky Charms, Recees Puffs, Dove, and Mens lotion.

My member savings were $20.04

I left with a total of $28.80.

Another great thing not to forget is all three of these stores have rewards cards and most of them you have to have a card to get the sale price. you can anyways open one and I believe that they are free.

I came home and because I am apparently a weirdo, my mom's words, I put my savings into an Excel Spreadsheet to see how well I did.

What should have cost me $117.90 cost $62.85. CRAZY!!!
46.69% savings isn't bad, especially since they don't really have a clearence section like Old Navy.

Anyways, Thanks so much for reading! I hope there aren't any grammar errors, but no one is perfect. If you have any questions on what I boght or anything just leave a comment, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I know that it is very confusing.

Have a lovely day!

I can't stay away from Old Navy!!!

I texted my dad and it went a little something like this...
'Hey dad. Would you wear black kakhis?'
'Probably not.'
'What about for 47 cents?'
'Sure!'

Because why not?! Things are so cheap at Old Navy right now that I just can't pass them up, even if they aren't for me.

A pair of black kakhis, size 38 32 on the clearance rack for $0.47! Old Navy has to be losing money because there are so many items under a dollar at the Cranberry store. These pants were originally $29.50 and I also used my employee discount, making them $0.42. This was a 98.58% savings.

Both of these belts were originally $5.94, but I picked them both up for $0.42 cents each, saving $0.05 cents each by using my employee discount. This makes these both a 92.93% savings.

So all three items, costing $0.42 each, added up to a total of $1.26. If I would have bought all of these items when they were full price it would have cost $41.38, making my total savings 96.96%!

Another Old Navy Trip

On the 8th of February, I was working and on my break I decided to rummage through the damaged discounts that we have in the men's section. Since I am a thrower in track and I lift, my shoulders are broader than most girls, meaning that women's button up shirts are too tight on me. Also, my dad was complaining that I was using his rewards on myself, which I was, so I decided to buy some shirts for him and some shirts for me.

So let's get one thing straight right away. Old Navy and Old Navy Online are two different stores. They have different prices, different promotions, and everything else. It is the most frustrating thing to try and explain to the customer. So when someone returns something from online and it is a style or size that we don't carry in store, such as tall or petite, it gets a damage tag and is automatically 50% off. Also, if the item is on sale or on clearance, it is 50% off of that price. Also, when these items don't sell, they can even go to 75% or even 90% off. So here are the things I picked up.

This shirt is for my dad, but even though it was a damage discount, it was on clearance for $5.47. This long sleeve is an XXL, and has an original price of $29.94. Also since this was not a damage discount I can use my employee discount and get 10% off the clearance tag. I managed to pick this up for $4.92. That's a 83.57 % savings.

I picked up this shirt for myself and it was a damage discount because the style was not in store. It came into the store on 11/14 and was originally $26.94. Since the shirt had been there for a while, it was not 75% off and it was ticketed for $8.99. When I got up to the register it actually rang up $5.47, and 75% off of that is $1.37. This is a 94.9% savings.

I also purchased this shirt for myself. It had a damage discount tag on it for 75% off. I'm not sure of the original price, but it was probably somewhere from $24.94-$29.94. It was ticketed on clearance for $13.99, but actually rang up $0.97. Even the 97 cents would have been a steal, but it also had the 75% off added onto that. So I got the shirt for $0.24. This is a 99.03% savings with the $24.94 and a 99.20% savings if it was originally $29.94.

This shirt is for my dad and it is a XXL TALL, so it was a damage discount (for 75% off too!). Also for this one I'm not sure what the original price was, but the clearance price was $17.99. I wasn't too sure about this one, but I went with it anyway and it paid off. The shirt actually rang up $0.97, and with the 75% off I purchased it for $0.24. Therefore, the savings for this shirt are the same as the one above, 99.03% (for $24.94) and 99.20% (for $29.94).

This shirt is also for my dad, it's an XXL TALL, and is a 75% damage discount. Originally this shirt is $14.94, but it was on a promotion in the store and some of the graphic tees were 30% off, as this one was. So 30% off of $14.49 is $10.01 but then the 75% on top of that made the shirt $2.61. This makes the savings 81.99%.

This shirt is also an XXL TALL and is also for my dad. The original price of this item was $19.94. It was ticketed at 6.49, but was 50% off due to the size. It ended up costing $3.24. This means that it was a 83.75% savings.

This was my last purchase. It's a flannel, which automatically made it mor expensive eo I was ecstatic to take it from the store and only paying $4.50. It was ticketed originally at $34.94, but was on clearance for $15.99. Also, since it was an XXL TALL, it was damaged at 75% off. This is a 87.12% savings.

This is all of the damage I did. I came out with about $176.58 to $186.58, depending on the original prices of the two shirts, but only paid $17.12, this means I saved 90.03% to 90.82%. Not a bad shipping trip for only looking on a fifteen minute break!

Old Navy Savings

With working at Old Navy, I have learned a whole bunch of things about how businesses work. I understand better how their promotions work, which signs go with which items, and just some other basic things about coupons and offers within Old Navy and other companies like it. So, I'm writing this post about my recent shopping experience.

I got this two shirts for myself, one shirt for my brother, two mens sweatshirt for me, a shirt and a pair of leggings for my six-year-old cousin.

All eight of these items would have cost $137.08, if I would have bought them at full price. I know that Old Navy has pretty good prices already, but you will be shocked at how much I actually pair for these eight things.

This shit was bought for my brother. He likes baseball, so I thought he would appreciate it. It was originally $14.94 and was on clearance for $1.97. I also used a $15 Reward from Old Navy, so it actually ended up being $0.40.

I also got these athletic shorts for my brother. They are originally $19.94 and were on clearance for $0.49. With the reward they ended up costing $0.09.

I purchased this shirt for myself. The original price was $19.94. The shirt was on clearance for $3.47 and with the reward, I pair $0.70.

I also got this shirt for myself. It was on clearance for $1.97 with an original price of $9.50. I purchased this shirt for $0. 40.

I got this NYC sweatshirt for myself. The original price is $19.94. The clearance price was $2.97. I picked this up for $0.60.

I also purchased this sweatshirt for myself. Regular price is $29.94. The clearance price was $3.97, and I got it for $0.80.

I got these Halloween leggings for my six year old cousin. They were regularly $9.94, but we're on clearance for $0.49, and I couldn't pass them up. I purchased them for $0.09.

I also got this tee shirt for my cousin, and it's the cutest thing ever!! It was originally $12.94. It was on clearance for $3.49, and I picked it up for $0.70.

Without the $15 reward, the total would have been $18.78, even without my employee discount.

With the $15 reward, my final total for the eight items was an astonishing $3.78.
